Hart Farm and Lowe Farm are partnering to produce the lovable breed of shetland sheep. We have purchased a registered breeding pair and plan to build our program using these quality animals. We've only had these "wool babies" for a short while, but have already fallen in love with their sweet personalities. I encourage you to research the breed; maybe you'll fall in love too!
Shetlands are the perfect breed for the thrifty homesteader. They can thrive on rough pasture, are extremely hardy, don’t require grain, and are fairly parasite-resistant. They are most commonly used for wool, but can also provide tender meat, ample milk, and wonderful companionship. They breed only in the fall, and the ewes are outstanding mothers.
Similar to the goats with "m" names, all lambs born on our farms will have names that begin with "a." We are very excited about this and plan to offer our first lambs this year.
WHY OUR SHEEP?
Our sheep are given attention daily and are given the best possible care. We make it a point to know our animals, and will strive to be present at every birth. Lambs will be handled often to ensure that you are getting an animal that is easy to work with. Unlike many sellers, we provide complete honesty in regards to our animals and are happy to answer any questions that you may have. Our sheep will be offered at fair, affordable prices that reflect each individual sheep's quality. Along with this, we strive to raise our sheep as naturally and holistically as possible to ensure that they remain happy, healthy critters!

ANGIE:
Angie is a beautiful registered shetland ewe (registered name MistyMeadow Bronwyn) with grey coloring and katmoget markings. She was a twin, and is such a lovely, elegant animal. She's a bit shy, but comes around when food is offered. The plan is to breed her every fall for her to lamb in the spring.
